Bag of Bones by Stephen King

  1. So I am only 3 chapters in and I am having a hard time with this one. Maybe I haven't settled down and got into, but this is dragging. Noel and I have a thing, when a book or movie has the title or nudity in the very beginning, then it's not going to be good. So far, it's had both in the first three chapters. I am holding out hope that it gets better though.

  2. I'm the opposit! I'm really diggin this book so far. I love the way King can make you really visualize things like: when Mike was talking about the sunset and how it looked 'squashed, as if an invisible hand were pushing down on the top of it and at any moment it might just pop like an overfilled mosquito and splatter all over the horizon'. The one that made me laugh was 'few household lands are so dusty as the Kingdom of Underbed'. Also how eating the chocolate marshmallow candy was like 'taking communion'. Lastly 'At night your thoughts have an unpleasant way of slipping their collars and running free'.

I'm curious to see what comes of Mike's writters block - good thing he stashed a few nuts away, but not enough apparently... If I was him I'd tell my agent to suck it and take the time off...

  3. I was with Mollie on this one. It was hard for me to get into. It was like I was listening to an interview but it was on every channel so I couldn't get away from it. He is in total denial about his writers block.
I am not going to research it at all but I wonder with all of these details about Mike if any of them are actually true about Stephen King or another author.
There are a lot of run on thoughts - hope it gets better
