Okay, the end of chapter ten with the ghost, wow creeped me out. And the weird dreams. I believe there are more than one ghost in the house.
I am also beginning to think that Jo found out about the ghosts too and that was what she was trying to figure out before she died.
Is Mike in log with Mattie or what? And now the lawyer likes her too. I hope this doesn't turn into something else because there is already soo much going on in this book.
If this is how all of his books are, I don't really care for him as an Author. It's creepy enough I will give you that, but there is so much going on and such big breaks before the next creepy thing happens, I get bored in between.
Loved the end of chapter 10! So far I think Jo's ghost is there, the little boy - whos name I forget, and Sara... I'm not sure why he was told it wasn't safe for him there (yes/no knocking). So far they have just been communicating with him and making themselves known... May be the black ghosts are pissed...
Some things that made me laugh out loud: When Mike was talking to the Deputy in his driveway and they were getting their digs at eachother and Mike thought 'I decided it was time to quit this before we secended to the kakapoopie stage of name calling' and when Mike was reading Kyra Cinderella and to himself said 'Cinderella trying to be a good sport, waving goodbye to her asshole sister...' and looking at his "watch" 'half past freckles and skin o'clock'...
It sure seems like Jo was cheating - even if it wasn't physical. She had quit all her commitees without telling Mike and was using that "meeting" time to sneak up to the lake... And this GUY with him arm around her. You'd think she wouldn't be so obvious in a public place where people know who she is and that she's married - So maybe it's just missleading us. Even if it's all innocent I wouldn't be happy finding all this out about a dead spouse - I'd rather be in the dark.
I'm glad Mike's writing again.
Should be interesting to see how things unfold with Mattie. This case will not be as cut and dry as it's being made to seem...
Rogette and Max are weird and total assholes.
It's been a long time since I've read a King book... I don't remember enjoying them as much as this one though...
The ghost in the basement was wicked! Not the best idea to read before bed - haha! I keep checking Rebeccas magnets to make sure they haven't moved in the morning :D Finally able to get into the book. Not sure about Mattie, is she really good with the whole town saying she is no good and to stay away. The lawyer wants her-pretty funny. Mike needs to get laid because his dreams a, for me atnyway. too descriptive and too much detail for me anyway. I agree about 3 ghosts in the house - I wonder if the screaming child is there unborn child??? Jo even lied in her planner abour where she was - maybe she was having an affair because of neglect on his part.
I agree with you Mollie. This is actually my first Stephen King novel and I was totally excited to read it. But if this is how all his books are, I don't think I want to read another one - I am actually disappointed. Maybe this is one of his less interesting books but wow - I thought it would be amazing.
