So I had to make myself sit down and read the book uninterrupted and try to get into it. Now it is getting interesting and getting somewhere.
I still don't likehow he feels the need to explain everything. And I mean everything, as If I have to picture everything his way, like he is telling me how to read the book. I get that the people at in Maine and the have a heavy accent you told me that chapter ago, you dont need to keep reminding me.
Other than that, it is now getting into the creepy ghost story. I like it. I was reading it before bed and I was wondering if it was going to give me bad dreams :) just read about what he heard on the tape player at the end of chaptr nine, and it gaveme chills. Also the child crying, whenever they put children in scary things it creeps me out.
Oh AMEN about the sound of the child crying! Always scary... As soon as I read he was going to set up the recorded before he went to bed I told him NO! ...But he did it anyway... LOL And then the magnets in a perfect circle... I get into my own head when I'm home alone and can scare myself so I can see how Mike being a writer might think the same thing but COME ON you're not imagining these things! That reminds me about the sunflowers he saw in his dream then in the picture the caretaker sent him (the sticker, the cut). I think at the end of the book we are going to find out this is all in his head and he's sitting in some nut house...
I don't know what to think about Jo "hiding" the pregnancy test. I feel like I'm being lead to believe that she was cheating or something. I hope not... Or leading a secret life. I like her, I like what we get to know of her through Mike. It seems like his wife and their baby are there with him. Or like I said he's crazy and he's projecting them there...
I agree Mike can be redundent. I didn't need to hear about his dream/nightmare a dozen times...
I thought it was weird he walked up to the house naked after his swim...
I like the little girl Kyra. It cracked me up when she said "I'm mad as hell" and stomped her food. Obviously we are just getting to know her and Mattie...
Yeah, all that stuff in his dream that was the same as real life, very weird.
About Jo's pregnancy test: I dont know if I am supposed to think she was cheating or just being careful, at their age I would go with the just being careful, so...If they are trying to hint that there was something else going on I would be suprised.
And walking around naked yeesh, just cause you look around and dont see anyone doesnt mean someone is not going to see you, ewww :)

Alright, so it got better at this point but he still rambles on. Totally agree with you guys, he keeps going on into too much detail. Like obviously guys talk about sex but the conversation between him and Frank in the diner - on and on and on, I felt like I was sitting at the table next to them and they were talking too loud! He totally freaked himself out going to Sara Laughs. I thought it was so lame that he walked there instead of just driving up to the house in his car. If I read the phrase "bag of bones" again I might toss the book! Max Devore is interesting. I think the relationship with Mattie will be totally sexual - seems like he needs to get laid LOL

Since they had been trying for a baby for a while maybe she didn't want to get his hopes up until she knew... I can see that.
